1st cut successfully ensiled - BONSILAGE SPEED G used for short ensiling period

The 1st cut on Gut Hülsenberg was harvested under excellent conditions on 17 and 18 May. Early samples of fresh silage bring us to expect an excellent feed value. With about 30% DM, 23% crude fibre, 17% crude protein, 13% sugar and gas formation of 59 ml/200 g in base material, the silage optimally complies with the set targets.

Our high-performing dairy cow herd needs highly digestible, energy-rich, hygienically flawless grass silage, as this is the only way to achieve high DM intakes of 24 to 25 kg per cow and day.

Since the silage was to be opened after as little as 2 weeks, BONSILAGE SPEED G was used as a silage additive. The new Lactobacillus diolivorans bacteria strain allows silage to be opened after a mere 2 weeks of ensiling. BONSILAGE SPEED G prevents aerobic spoilage processes and heating and thus ensures optimal ensiling for high feed intake.
