The dairy cow herd on Gut Hülsenberg once again increased its performance substantially in the recently completed 2016 recording year. With 12,074 kg milk, 3.86% fat and 3.27% protein, this high-performing herd of currently 205 dairy cows left all other Schleswig-Holstein farms in the 200-400 dairy cow category well behind.

Two cows stood out in particular:

Naomi, sired by Stromer, who completed her 3rd lactation with 17,267 kg milk with 3.73% fat and 3.05% protein over a 305-day performance. Naomi currently produces 69.4 kg milk per day (mid-March 2017).

Frauke, sired by Aaron, is already in her 10th lactation and thus perfectly embodies the breeding objective pursued at Gut Hülsenberg, namely to achieve high-performing cows with a long length of productive life. Including this year’s recorded performance, she has now achieved an impressive lifetime yield of 133,353 kg milk, with an excellent lifetime productivity per day of life of 28.6 kg milk. Frauke is in the best of health. She produces about 45 kg milk per day and is waiting for her next insemination.
